Rejected petition Impose Sanctions on the U.S if it launches strikes on Venezuelan Land
Should the Trump Administration breach international law and launch strikes on land controlled by Venezuela, the UK must sanction any U.S military officers and members of the U.S government responsible. The UK should also summon the U.S ambassador to explain the actions of the United States
More details
By sanctioning the government and military command of one of its closest allies, the United Kingdom will be sending a powerful message that acts of aggression by its allies will not be supported. The UK as a major world power and one with monumental diplomatic weight must act to discourage another war started to affect regime change, particularly one initiated by the United States, whose interventions in nations such as Iraq have led to destabilising conflicts that have cost innumerable lives.

Why was this petition rejected?
We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.
We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.
In this instance, what is already happening (or has already happened) is action in Venezuela by the US administration/armed forces. So the petition as it stands can't be accepted. There are some petitions that were submitted when US action commenced which should be opened shortly (we have a backlog of a few weeks, unfortunately) which you will be able to sign.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
