Hold a House of Commons debate on introducing a statutory AI framework. The debate should draw on relevant parliamentary work on AI to help shape a clear and consistent national approach to regulating AI across the UK.
The UK has no statutory AI law. Government relies on existing rules, regulators and the AI Security Institute. AI systems already influence decisions in work, education, housing, finance and services. A Commons debate is needed to consider whether the UK should move from a voluntary approach to a clear and accountable statutory framework.
