Petition Classify English Rail Projects as England-Only, Not England & Wales

We call on the Government to reclassify rail projects that are entirely in England as England-only, not “England & Wales”. This must apply retrospectively, including to HS2, Northern Powerhouse Rail, and all future projects so that Wales receives the proper Barnett funding it is entitled to.

Wales currently receives no extra rail funding when the UK invests billions in England-only schemes like HS2 and Liverpool-Hull. We think Wales gains no benefit yet loses out on billions that could improve our railways, and that the UK Government must stop exploiting this loophole and give Wales the fair share it is owed.
