Its clear that the limited character allowance being used by parliament for this e petitions service, is a similar policy move to what police forced are currently using in their online reporting & complaint forms.
It is heavily restrictive for the amount of written evidence we can enter
It is true that in theory we can add an url with a link to a pdf file or rtf or notepad with more text, but really the Scottish parliament website has much more character count flexibility.
Given that petitions to parliament are equal in law to private bills, & a very high level of jurisdiction to pursue 100,000 signatures, it seems to defeat the object of the severity of the measures being used & engaged with to restrict the word count so severely.
