Open petition: Require vets to inform owners if medicine is available cheaper elsewhere

Created by Haydn Farrar
Closes on

I would like Parliament to legislate that any agency issuing prescriptions for animals must advise people if a cheaper option is available to purchase from another source. And if they do not do that people should, by providing evidence, be reimbursed the difference by the prescription provider.

My vet prescribed and issued a prescription for my dog. They charged £36.39. The same drug is available online for £5.39. This is extortionate.
