Rejected petition Lift the ban on regulated sales of raw (unpasteurised) drinking milk in Scotland
Urge Govt & Food Standards Scotland to lift ban on raw (unpasteurised) milk/cream sales. Allow regulated direct sales (farm-gate etc) with testing, hygiene & warnings, as in rest of UK, for informed adult choice like alcohol/cigarettes.
More details
Scotland completely bans raw (unpasteurised) milk/cream sales, unlike England, Wales & NI which allow regulated direct sales (farm-gate, markets) with testing, hygiene, TB-free herds & warnings.
Informed adults deserve choice for raw/organic milk (taste, benefits), similar to cigarettes, alcohol, gambling & energy drinks despite risks.
Review to permit safe, controlled sales, balancing health & farmer support.
