Rejected petition: Stop Violent Suppression of Peaceful Protesters and Internet Blackout in Iran
Rejected on
Condemn the violent suppression of peaceful protesters in Iran, impose targeted sanctions on individuals and entities responsible for human rights violations, and work with international partners to restore internet access and protect civilians.
Iranian security forces have reportedly used lethal force against unarmed civilians during nationwide protests. At the same time, authorities have imposed a full internet blackout, preventing families from contacting loved ones and blocking the documentation of human rights abuses. The UK must act to defend human rights and protect civilians.
