Rejected petition: Review the laws relating to driving and prescribed medical cannabis use

Rejected on

I want the government to investigate the impact on driving of prescribed medical cannabis because at the moment there are arguably a lot of people driving around impaired.

Arguably medical cannabis users have an unfair right to be impaired whilst driving. This could place many people in danger from those that choose to medicate and take the wheel.

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, individuals who are legally prescribed medical cannabis are allowed to drive as long as they adhere to their doctor’s guidance and are not impaired at the time of driving.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
