Petition Review need for a national standard of care for children with cerebral palsy
NHS England introduced a Cerebral Palsy Commissioning Framework in 2025, but it has only been piloted in some Integrated Care Boards and not adopted nationwide.
More details
We call for full implementation of a national minimum standard of care, guaranteeing access to therapy, orthopaedics, complex movement clinics, named care coordinators, early intervention, clear waiting times, and support for UK research including stem cell trials. These changes could be known as Frankie's Future.
Many children still face a postcode lottery for care, with families forced to fight for support during crucial early years.

National service specification for adult cerebral palsy in the NHS: debate in Parliament
On 10 March, MPs held a debate entitled 'National service specification for adult cerebral palsy in the NHS.'
This was a Westminster Hall debate led by Daniel Francis MP. Health Minister Stephen Kinnock MP responded on behalf of the Government.
Explainer
Westminster Hall debates give MPs an opportunity to debate a topic of their choice, and receive a response from the Government.
They are a way to:
- raise awareness of an issue
- seek to influence government policy
- put the views of backbench MPs, political parties, and the Government on record.
They do not involve a vote on a particular action or decision.
