Rejected petition Stop Inheritance and tax on gifts for everyone.

I ask the government to abolish inheritance tax and gift taxes. It’s wrong to tax on what really amounts to the unfortunate death of a person.

IHT must be abolished its bad for business and families .For instance the deaths of a 40 and a 100 year old person.One family not only loses a loved one early but would be liable to IHT whereas the 100 year olds family have an extra 60 years with no IHT
Gift taxes should be abolished as it is a British value to help family members to get on in life. The 7 year gift rule is spiteful to those who lose a loved one in that period. It is not right a person has to pay tax on a gift because of death.
