Rejected petition Keep Forestry Commission car parks open to horseboxes.

Enforce public access to Forestry Commission land by ensuring horseboxes can continue parking in their car parks, as they have done for decades.

An important part of our safety is the ability to stay off the roads and have alternative safe places to ride.

More details

MPs recently raised in Parliament the importance of horse and rider safety on roads.

Last year, the Forestry Commission (FC) ran a publicity campaign about riders no longer needing permits to ride on FC land.

Unfortunately, they’ve now decided to ban horseboxes from their car parks, even if riders pay. This is forcing riders to ride on roads to access these forests.

Riders have used FC land for decades. This restriction must be reversed, for safety of horses and riders.
