Rejected petition Call on MPs to table a vote of no confidence in the government

We want Members of Parliament to table and debate a motion of no confidence in the current government, allowing the House of Commons to formally consider whether the government still has the confidence of Parliament.

More details

We believe the government has demonstrated repeated failures in judgement and decision making on behalf of the UK population. There is widespread public concern about leadership, competence, and an inability to act consistently in the public interest. These concerns have led to a loss of public confidence that should be addressed through proper parliamentary process.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about honours or appointments.

We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for a vote of no confidence in the Government. This is set out in the Committee's standards: https://petition.parliament.uk/help#standards

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or the House of Commons, you could start a petition about that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
