Petition Fund improved CAMHS and crisis support, and cut waiting times
We call on the Government to fund improved Children and young people's mental health services (CAMHS), cut waiting times for support to meet national targets and provide early intervention.
More details
We want more funding for under-18 crisis hubs and for targeted support for complex needs, especially for BPD & bipolar.
Funding should also cover self-referrals and more school counsellors. Many teenagers across the UK are facing a mental health crisis. Anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, trauma-related conditions, and personality disorders are becoming more common, yet, in our view, support systems are overwhelmed, underfunded, and inaccessible. We believe this reactive approach is failing teenagers and putting lives at risk, and that teenagers are not taken seriously until becoming adults and by that time the damage has already been made.
