Petition Call for a review of endoscopy surveillance intervals for Barrett’s Oesophagus
Barrett’s Oesophagus can progress to cancer silently, even without symptoms. We urge the Government to call for a review looking to shorten surveillance intervals to detect disease earlier, improve survival, and save lives.
More details
Barrett’s Oesophagus can progress to advanced cancer silently within the current 3–5 year surveillance intervals, often causing patients anxiety. Reviewing and shortening intervals would allow earlier detection, prevent late-stage disease, reduce anxiety, improve survival, and save lives.
