Rejected petition Do not extend the ILR qualifying period for Skilled visa holders to 10 years
We call on the Government to keep the current 5-year route to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for Skilled Worker visa holders and not extend it to 10 years.
More details
We call on the Government to retain the 5-year route to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) for Skilled Worker visa holders and not extend it to 10 years. Skilled workers already contribute through taxes, National Insurance, and high visa fees, while paying the Immigration Health Surcharge despite limited access to public funds. If benefit access is a concern, ILR should remain at 5 years, with public funds restricted until British citizenship.
