Rejected petition Bring back the death penalty for the most serious of crimes involving children.
I want the Government and Parliament to introduce legislation to allow the death penalty to be applied in the United Kingdom in the most serious cases involving crimes against children.
More details
This would apply only to the most severe offences, where guilt has been proven beyond doubt through the full legal process, including appeals. The aim would be to ensure the strongest possible punishment is available for the worst crimes and to act as a deterrent.
I believe sentencing policy should reflect the seriousness of these offences and prioritise the protection of children and the public.
