Rejected petition Review national PSHE curriculum to tackle modern issues and educate proactively.

Review and update the national PSHE curriculum to better reflect modern challenges. Include mandatory education on recognising early signs of mental health issues, understanding misinformation and AI-generated content, and building critical thinking and digital resilience skills.

More details

Kids are growing up in a fast-changing world shaped by social media, AI and rising mental health pressures. Many, struggle to recognise early warning signs in themselves or others, and are vulnerable to online misinformation, deepfakes and harmful content. Early education will prevent problems escalating and reduce long-term strain on services. Updating PSHE would equip pupils with practical skills to protect their wellbeing, think critically, and navigate digital spaces safely and responsibly.
