Rejected petition Reduce tube and train prices by <4%
We want change to the rising tube and train prices that affect people all over London. We ask that the Government reduce prices and offer additional aid to those who are fully dependent on public transport.
More details
Affordable transport should be necessity not a luxury. We believe that transport is essential for working people, students, and families who might not have a stable income. Lowering fares will not only help these people but reduce financial pressure on working class families. Furthermore, the cost of public transport should not stop people from using facilities that have been set out to us just because of pricing.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about London tube services are a matter for Transport for London, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
The London Assembly has its own petitions process. You can find out more about how to petition the London Assembly here: https://www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions
