Open petition: Legislate to allow a public vote on MPs' pay rises
Created by Carl Thomas Siddall
Closes on
Legislate for a public vote on whether MPs should receive a pay rise. Pay rises in employment are usually based on achievements in work that are paid for by the employer – in this case the public. As employers (the public) we believe we have the right to deem if it's necessary for a pay rise or not.
To put it to a public vote whether MPs receive a pay rise or not based solely on what they have done for the UK. We the taxpayers who fund their lifestyle should have the final decision on whether pay rises are given or not as it's the people's money. We believe no good has happened in the UK from 2024 since these MPs were elected so we don’t understand why they are being rewarded with a pay rise.
