Petition Instatement of a National Community Service Program.
More details
A call to reinstate a National Service program, the individuals who sign this petition are requesting the government of the day to debate the reinstatement of a National Community Service program to help bring about change in the mood of the young generation of today. To help teenagers achieve a sense of purpose, to earn respect & community recognition, program members would be provided a uniform, vocational training and a salary – members would then be set to task in community work projects and temporary local employment opportunities. As a national program, the members could be requested to provide services around the UK. Funding for the program could be achieved by a combination of money from the state, i.e. social welfare & the private sector, (local employers willing to accept program members.)
