Open petition: End mandatory online age verification & mandate parental controls instead
Created by Jamie Fraser
Closes on
We call on the Government to stop mandating age verification for online content and instead require software companies to provide a fully functional, free and simple to use parental control system so parents can control what their kids can access if they wish.
We believe education should also be provided to parents who are unsure what to do rather than forcing everyone to age verify. We feel that an even better option would be one tool that supports all operating systems, phones, laptops, games consoles, etc, that is free to use so parents have full control to safeguard their own children as their duty as parents to do so. We believe it should be an opt-in system.
