Rejected petition: Introduce consumer protection from unregulated domestic Heating Oil price rises.
Rejected on
We want the UK Government to introduce regulation, oversight and consumer protection with regard to unchecked heating oil rises including consideration of an ombudsman and measures to prevent excessive pricing in off grid and rural energy markets.
Millions of rural households rely on heating oil because they are off the gas grid. With no price cap, regulator, or ombudsman, families face sudden, extreme price rises, forcing many to ration heating or go without, putting health, safety, and wellbeing at risk. The Government must urgently introduce regulation, oversight, transparency, and protections to ensure rural households are treated fairly and not exploited.
