Rejected petition Require TfL to let drivers check ANPR road charges by number plate before fines.
Introduce a “Check My Journey” tool that allows drivers to enter their vehicle number plate and a date to see whether their vehicle was recorded in a London road charging scheme, what charge is owed, and provide a direct option to pay before any penalty is issued..
More details
Drivers cannot currently check whether their vehicle was recorded by ANPR cameras when entering London charging areas. This forces many people to guess whether they owe a charge. Visitors unfamiliar with London roads may pass through tunnels or charging zones without realising it and only discover days later when a penalty arrives. If authorities can use ANPR data to issue penalties, drivers should also be able to see that information to confirm journeys and pay the correct charge in time.
