Rejected petition: Prioritise UK North Sea Oil and Gas for Domestic Use to Improve Energy Security

Rejected on

Many UK households face high energy costs while the UK exports much of its North Sea oil and gas and imports energy from abroad. We believe more UK-produced energy should be prioritised for domestic use to improve energy security and reduce reliance on imports.

Many UK households struggle with high energy bills while the UK produces oil and gas from the North Sea. Much of this is exported while the UK still imports energy.

We believe the Government should prioritise more UK-produced oil and gas for domestic use to improve energy security and reduce reliance on imports.

We ask the Government to review current licensing and energy policies and introduce measures to ensure more North Sea oil and gas is supplied to the UK market before export.
