Rejected petition Let secondary schools start later in the day.
Psychologists have proven that teenagers would benefit from schools starting later in the day and ending later in the day (I.e: start- 11:15 end- 5:25). Teenagers are more inclined to stay up later and wake up later, so schools starting early can wreak havoc on their natural need to stay up later.

This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The Government only mandates number of hours a week and number of days a year a school has to operate for - it is up to schools to decide on the timetable for each school day (education is also devolved in NI).
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
