If the Government mandates registration and oversight via the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, we believe it must provide equitable funding. Home educators save the state over £1 billion annually, yet they personally bear all costs for exams and curricula. Under new "suitability" checks, families face increased administrative burdens without support. Funding should "follow the child," ensuring that those exercising their legal right to home educate have access to the resources they deserve.
