Rejected petition Make life saving first aid a mandatory course for children in secondary school.
I would like to ask the government to consider making it a requirement for all children of secondary schools to be given a life saving first aid class in school.
More details
There is so much more violence these days amongst our young people and so many more lives being lost with the level of knife crime we are experiencing. If one life could be saved by teaching life saving skills in school it would be worth it. Just one day for each student to learn could make so much difference. This is already offered in the workplace, so why not schools.

Why was this petition rejected?
We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.
We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.
First aid, life-saving skills and CPR training are already part of the health curriculum for schools, which you can see on page 38 of the statutory guidance here:
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
