Rejected petition: Ban AI in schools.
Rejected on
Implement a ban or severe restrictions on the use of AI in schools by both students and teachers.
Multiple studies have been published proving that AI gives people less opportunity to practice essential skills such as problem solving and critical thinking.
As of 2025–26, 86-92% of students use AI for their studies with 6 in 10 UK schoolchildren feeling that AI has negatively impacted their skills in relation to schoolwork.
In the UK, 33% of student papers were flagged for plagiarism, even though only 10% were primarily AI-generated.
Not to mention the negative effects on the planet.
