Petition Review collaboration between police and hospitals in suspected spiking cases
Currently hospital blood tests need to be approved by police to be able to be used as forensic evidence which can cause delays. Many spiking drugs can leave the system in as little as 12 hours. Delays in testing can lead to vital evidence being lost and predators getting away with their crimes.
More details
We want the Government to review the system so that in the event of a suspected spiking, a victim can have bloods taken if they wish, regardless of police permission or involvement, that could be used as evidence. Improved collaboration between medical staff and the police could ensure evidence is available should the victim wish to report, increasing the chances that justice will be served.
