Open petition: Review laws & fund better mobile coverage in rural regions of England
Created by Anna Carrington
Closes on
We call on the Government to review laws and regulations to ensure network operators meet coverage standards across rural regions, not just urban areas, and strengthen Ofcom’s powers to hold providers accountable for failing coverage.
People across the South West pay the same as customers in cities with reliable 4G and 5G, yet many cannot depend on a basic mobile signal at home or work. On many occasions, calls drop, messages fail, and poor coverage can be dangerous in emergencies. In a developed country, we believe this is unacceptable. We feel there is no clear accountability or timetable to fix it. We believe the South West deserves the same reliable service as the rest of the UK.
