Rejected petition: Impose trade sanctions on Israel and work with allies to help Palestinians.

Rejected on

The UK should sanction Israel economically and work with allies - particularly the US - to force Israel to treat Palestinians with humanity.

On 30th March 2026 the Israeli state passed a law to impose the death penalty as the default punishment for Palestinians who have carried out fatal attacks deemed as terrorism.
Israel has imprisoned thousands of Palestinians without charge to date.
With this latest law, the Israeli government has given itself the means to kill Palestinians more easily. Some in the Israeli government are keen to make use of the law (evident from statements by government ministers).
