Demand for SEN support is rapidly increasing, with over 1.7 million pupils in England now identified with SEN and numbers rising each year. In Cornwall, families face long delays, with only 2% of EHCPs issued on time. A shortage of specialist placements forces children into unsuitable settings or reduced timetables, harming development, wellbeing, and future outcomes.
Children are being failed by a system that cannot meet basic needs, leaving them without proper education, support, or stability.
