Open petition: Require airlines to amend stored API data between outbound and inbound flights
Created by Samantha Eaton
Closes on
Following the UK's full implementation of ETA on 25/02/2026 and the EU's full implementation of ETIAS in 2027, please require all airlines operating flights to the UK to allow dual nationals to amend advance passenger information (API) data between outbound and inbound flights.
A dual British/EU national will not be able to check in for a flight from the UK to the EU using their British passport, because the carrier would receive a "NOT OK" response from the EU. A dual British/EU national will not be able to check in for a flight from the EU to the UK using their EU identity card or passport, because the carrier would receive a "0B" response from the Home Office. Therefore it is essential that airlines are required to allow API data to be amended mid-itinerary.
