Rejected petition: Introduce a price cap on heating oil administered through Offgem.

Rejected on

The price fluctuations that occur in heating oil especially in times of international crisis affect approximately 1.5 million households in the U.K. This petition wishes to level the playing field and afford the same protection to heating oil customers.

During the current Iran war crisis and the closing of the straights of Hormuz. Heating oil (kerosene) has more than doubled which highlights the issues of affordability for the average household. Although the current government have introduced a support package for very low income households it would seem grossly unfair that this is not afforded to all heating oil households. This petition seeks to level the playing field and afford the same protections electricity and gas households receive.
