Rejected petition: Prevent councils running meetings to do with international affairs.
Rejected on
Stop councils from wasting time with international affairs/conflicts. A council should only be looking after the Borough it is designated for and not wasting time or resources dealing with international affairs and to focus on their Borough only.
Councils waste too much time and resources dealing with international affairs/conflicts when they should be putting the time and resources in looking after their Borough only.
It is parliament/governments responsibility to deal with international affairs and not local councils.
It is not a councils responsibility to ease conflict in other countries because they have residents that have family there. Their job is their Borough and their Borough only not international, stop wasting resources.
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do, including what specific types of business you mean by your reference to meetings to do with international affairs. We also can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for. It is generally a matter for councils to make determinations relating to their meetings.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
