Rejected petition: Make Car Crime in the UK a more seriously recognised crime
Rejected on
On Monday 13th April our car was stolen from our driveway in the early hours by 2 people, when i reported the crime to the police I was told to give the crime reference to my insurer and on 14th April my case was closed. I would like to get parliament to make Car theft a serious crime.
I would like Parliament to change the law to make it harder for criminal gangs or any criminal to be allowed to steal cars. In this country approximately one car gets stolen every 8.5 seconds this is meaning the police no longer actively investigate these crimes as the do not have the resources meaning the criminals are emboldened to carry on this is costing the insurance sector thousands and the criminals are making a fortune by stealing these cars
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you want to make it harder for criminals to steal cars, but we are not sure how you want the Government to do this.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
