Open petition: Review how the Home Office deals with False Domestic Abuse Claims to get ILR

Created by Dalvinder Kaur
Closes on

A BBC investigation raised concerns that the UK Home Office have granted settled status to migrants based on insufficient evidence when applicants claimed they had experienced domestic abuse.

The government should review past cases to ensure they were processed fairly and if evidence from both sides were properly considered.

It has been reported that some migrants are marrying British citizens and then claiming false domestic abuse to obtain a fast track route to Indefinite Leave to Remain. A BBC Investigation found that the number of people using the domestic violence route rose by more than 50% in just three years. This has caused trauma and ruined British citizens lives.
