Rejected petition: Unban social media for under 16s
Rejected on
Unban social media for under 16s or lower the ban age to under 13s
Teenagers use social media as a sense of freedom and for communication with their friends, additionally being able to share something in common (e.g. the 67 meme). Parents should be able to choose for themselves how they want their kids to act on social media, whether that’s looking at what they’re doing/watching or using the built-in parent settings so they can control what you are and aren’t allowed to see. If not, then at least do under 13s as they are obviously too young for social media.
