Rejected petition: New law or legislation for all dogs to be kept on leads in public places
Rejected on
Create a new law or legislation that bans dogs from being off lead in public places. This is to stop unwanted dog attention, dog attacks and antisocial behaviour. All dogs, children, and people have the right to not have other dogs in their personal space.
My dog has now been attacked on 3 separate occasions by different off lead dogs. These dogs do not have recall despite the owners trying to call them, and can not be pulled away due to the owners being too far away. There is also a lot of unwanted attention from friendly off lead dogs that get too close and have no recall. I know many dogs and owners who have been left anxious by attacks and now cannot cope with off lead dogs in their personal space. Something must be done to keep all dogs safe.
