Rejected petition: Invest more funding into SEND and SEN provisions

Rejected on

Provide more funding to increase the amount of SEN schools and specialist provisions so that children with additional needs can access education in a meaningful and more dignified way. This gives them the same opportunity to learn as their peers.

Most children are able to attend mainstream school and access education in a meaningful way. This is part of their basic human rights. However, many SEN children don’t have access to this right and have either not had any access to education or have been limited to an integrated timetable. Both of which impact their learning. There is no dignity or equality. All children have the right to learn, but not all have access to equal opportunities for this which is discrimination by default.
