Rejected petition: Fully prohibit media advertising of gambling products, services and companies

The UK government must act immediately and enforce a full interdiction of promoting gambling, one of the UK’s largest addiction issues and a known motivator of financial issues, poverty, and mental health issues. Failing to do so would be allowing businesses to entice young people to addictive acts.
Gambling is a serious problem for many in the United Kingdom, creating addiction of a similar nature and seriousness as that of someone dependant on drugs or alcohol.
With a government apparently devoted to public health, it’s shameful to see gamification, vibrancy and other known tactics used to entice people (particularly younger individuals) to enter an addictive lifestyle. We don’t allow advertisement of addictive substances, gambling should be no different as it’s wholly as addictive.
Why was this petition rejected?
There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
