Open petition: Require a 2/3 majority in the HoC to scrap/withdraw from human rights provisions

Created by Oliver Bradley
Closes on

We call for a two thirds majority of all sitting MPs to be required to abolish or withdraw from: the Equality Act 2010, GDPR laws, the Data Protection Act 2018, the European Convention on Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights, the 1951 Refugee Convention, and the CRPD.

I am concerned that some political movements are calling to abolish vital rights legislation to benefit large corporations. I believe it is important in safeguarding civil society that we make no compromises in protecting human rights for future generations.

I believe disregard and contempt for human rights have resulted in barbarous acts which have outraged the conscience of humankind. No matter our politics, I feel it is our duty to uphold human rights for all and protect our children from political corruption.
