Open petition: Ensure equal access to online ticket booking for disabled people
Created by Alex Sweeney
Closes on
Make equally accessible ticket booking for all a legal requirement. Disabled people often have no alternative but to phone venues to book tickets, unlike everyone else who can book & access tickets online or via apps. This often involves repeat calling an creates extra barriers to face.
I want the Government to make accessible ticket booking a legal requirement because disabled people still face unnecessary barriers attending live events. In 2026, most people can book tickets instantly online, yet many disabled people must still phone venues, wait on hold, and repeatedly explain their access needs. Accessible ticketing should be built into standard booking systems so disabled people have the same independence, dignity, and equal access as everyone else. Equal access means equal booking.
