Rejected petition: Declassify and publish all UAP/UFO records, whilst protecting national security.
Rejected on
We ask the Government to declassify and publish all UAP/UFO records, except where strictly necessary for national security. The US has taken steps toward transparency. Releasing UK data would support scientific investigation, improve reporting standards, and strengthen public understanding.
The US Government has acknowledged UAPs as a legitimate scientific and defence subject, releasing material that has enabled researchers to analyse flight characteristics, sensor anomalies, and environmental data. The UK should follow. Keeping historical files secret fuels speculation and limits scientific progress. Transparency would allow researchers, journalists, and the public to examine evidence, improve data quality, and build a clearer understanding of these phenomena.
