Rejected petition: Make the NHS a cross party issue. Protect it from changes in government.
Rejected on
I am petitioning to make the NHS a cross party issue.
For too long the NHS has been used as a political football, primarily to attract votes for whoever is campaigning at the time. This results in continual restructuring. This is costly, ineffective and damaging to its staff and its users.
I want parliament to make the NHS a cross party issue. I want parliament to remove decision making about the NHS from one political party.
I want decisions about the NHS to be based on a shared vision and consensus to provide longevity beyond the term of changes in governmental administration.
For our NHS to be fit for the future all political parties need to get behind it. History has demonstrated it is vulnerable to the whims of one political party. Protect it, before we lose it.
