Rejected petition: Stop cyclists on pavements jumping lights riding with children on their bikes

Rejected on

The cyclists are putting their children’s lives at risk in heavy traffic jumping lights riding dangerously and riding up one way streets

The cyclists are riding dangerously and not following road laws sometimes with two or three children on their bikes with no insurance

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you're concerned about the safety of cyclists. However, it's already against the law for cyclists to ride on the pavement and jump traffic lights.

We could accept a petition calling for action on this issue, for example a change to current laws or increased funding for police to enforce the current ones.

You may wish to sign this petition that calls for the licensing of cyclists:

Cyclists to be licenced, registered to be on the road and have insurance: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/761069

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
