We’re calling on the Government to protect Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) assistive technology funding and reject plans to restrict support to “exceptional circumstances” only. These changes risk widening inequality and must be evidence-based, not cost-driven.
We are calling on the Department for Education and Student Finance England to protect Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) assistive technology funding and reject plans to restrict support to “exceptional circumstances” only.
These changes assume free or general tools can replace specialist support, despite limited evidence of equal outcomes. This risks widening inequality, increasing withdrawals, and reducing outcomes for disabled students. Reforms must be evidence-based, not cost-driven.
