Open petition: Abolish employer National Insurance contributions

Created by Gregory Phillip Paice
Closes on

Not to be confused with Employee PAYE or Employee National Insurance contributions, we want the Government to abolish Employer National Insurance contributions as we believe it is a direct tax placed on businesses for each employed person based and on their employee’s earnings.

It is currently set at – 15% rate for each employee and charged to the business. We believe that if the Government are serious about increasing employment, it should let employers employ people without requiring them to pay this additional tax.

We believe it is a direct tax that employing businesses must pay on top of employees’ wages. We believe we should help businesses employ more workers without penalising the business for each worker they employ. If a business is successful, it could instead pay more corporation tax, but sadly, many businesses are failing due to current tax burdens.
