Rejected petition: Do NOT Trial Digital ID on the Isle Of Wight

Rejected on

The Isle Of Wight is not a test ground. The talks to trial digital ID here have not been discussed with any residents and is being forced on an unwilling community. Richard Quigley obviously has no respect for his people and allowing this would be another big blow for an already dying Island.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Although I have read the exchanges in parliamentary questions and am aware of articles in the Computer Weekly magazine about this, the Government has not announced any plans to use the Isle of Wight to trial Digital ID.

We cannot allow petitions against things that may happen or are hypothetical - and this petition may suggest to some people that this is going to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
