Rejected petition: Give the UK public a vote in choosing Eurovision representatives

Rejected on

We call on the Government and the BBC to give the UK public a meaningful role in selecting the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest representative through a transparent public vote or national selection process

Eurovision is one of the world’s biggest televised music events and is watched by millions across the UK every year. However, the British public currently has little meaningful involvement in choosing who represents the United Kingdom. Many countries successfully use public national selection shows to increase engagement, transparency and national support. The UK public should have a say in who represents the country at Eurovision.
